Reviewing all Options
While the Client initially had a preference for wood after seeing and using facilities constructed and finished with it, budgeting was also presented for steel, pre-fabricated steel and a hybrid with concrete walls.
Meeting the Client's Needs
Wood was used as the primary structural and finish material because it not only allowed the building to be constructed in a simple and cost-effective manner, but also formed the elegant and efficient structure the Client desired, was sustainable and allowed more design flexibility than other materials.
Notable Structural Arches
The structural arches were the biggest produced by Western Archrib in their 65 years of operation. Pre-engineered connectors allowed the arches to be shipped in two halves and assembled on-site.
A State-of-the-Art Facility
The result is a state-of-the-art training facility for showjumping that is unparalleled in Western Canada.
